Finally

I've been feeling frustrated because I haven't been able to get anything new made for Black Eyed Susie for a while. Finally I made this sweet dress. I love it. I love the contrast of the large dark blue and ivory daisy print with the smaller oval and rectangle red print. OK, some may say it's a bit busy but I just think it's oh so cute!

I want to get Chloe some red tights or leggings and a red polo neck now.

I'm finding photgraphing my clothes difficult now we are in winter. It's really way to cold to put Chloe in a dress (without the leggings etc) and I do want to show the dresses as they can look in summer as well as winter. Also, the spot in my house that I have always used to photgraph the clothes flat just doesn't get enough light even on the brightest day now. So whilst I love the dress, I'm disappointed in the pictures. I need to find some better options.

The dress is great. I think that it would be too busy for a grown up but since it is for a little girl it is perfect. I love it!

Sweet dress - it would be prefect with a polo and leggings! I am having the same trouble with photographing in winter - not much natural light at the moment!

gorgeous dress. The more prints the better I say! I am sure your not the only one struggling with winter photos...drives me crazy. I think your photos look great.

The daisies are pretty but the red/egg fabric really funks it up!

This is gorgeous! I know what you mean about the light in Winter. I mean, I'm in Queensland and I still find it hard at this time of year!!!! I'm actually thinking about trying to make a light box out of cardboard and tracing paper for my bags and things...but then that would still be no good for photographing clothing would it. Hmmmm....it's a tough one...maybe you could keep an eye out for a second-hand child sized mannequin - and then make IT go out in the cold for a 'Summer Style' photoshoot :P

Thanks for all the lovely compliments everyone. And thanks for the tips Bec. I've had my eye out for a mannequin for a while - I think the photo stress factore would decrease greatly.

oh my i love this dress!!! so very adorable. you have inspired me so to make millie her clothes. i am making her a pair of pants right now out of a vintage blue fabric. all i have left to do is adding the ruffle to the bottom!! (not sure how to do that yet)...
i looked at the burda website for patterns and did not find the patterns i was looking for. i was wondering if you could tell me where you got the halter top, dress and cord pant patterns? any information would be greatly appreciated. i am only beginning and trying to find the best buys!! thanks and take care. i get a lot of compliments on the birdie pants!!!

Hi Kristin, I drew those patterns up myself so can't really help sorry. Have you tried going into a big sewing shop and flicking through the catalogues? If you can see past the pictures fabrics to your own ideas it helps.
